What options does that leave the community for End of Life Care and placement?
To provide alternative and compassionate options for meeting clients wherever they are in their life's journey. We offer mobile in home services to encourage dignified aging and Completion of Life. Whether service is provided in hospital, a personal residence,or a Long term Care Facility, it is my priority to educate and empower individuals and families to navigate challenges, and make meaningful experiences with the time they have.
Our philosopy of care is based on 5 fundamental pillars:
Holistic Care
Providing Peace of Mind
Promoting Being Present in the Moment
Caring for Family
Collaboration
Meet Symara,
The Owner and Founder of In Loving Memory. Symara Petrowsky is a Métis woman, Licensed Practical Nurse, and trained End of life Doula.
"As a Frontline worker in hospital, hospice and long-term care, I have witnessed first hand death and dying, and the lack of options to prioritize what is truly important to them and their loved ones."
Offering a truly alternative holistic approach to supportive in home care for our community. We acknowledge the aging population, the calling for incorporation of culturally safe care and the lack of options and placement for End of Life Care. The more support an individual and/or family has, the more likely a positive and meaningful journey.
This service is available to anyone over the age of 18, and highly encouraged for anyone over the age of 65. Advance Care Planning helps an individual describe their wishes at the End of life, if you are not able to speak for yourself. It can include your values, goals and preferences for medical procedures that you do or don't want. Having a plan in place provides a sense of relief that your wishes will be heard, and gives confidence to your loved ones to speak for you.
Emotional, Spiritual, Mental, and Physical support at the bedside of a dying individual. This support looks different for each individual and/ or family.
A personal and creative way to be remembered. A legacy project can be almost anything;
Helping navigate the complex healthcare system, and being prepared to ask the right questions at the right time.
By harmonizing both LPN and Doula training, In Loving Memory offers a truly unique and alternative holistic practice.
